MSC Sets Record for Continuous Casting

Head of Continuous Casting Machine Unit 5 of the company Mr. Mohammad Fakhri highlighted the performance of this unit and continuous casting machine.

He said capable personnel of the Unit 5 managed to repair some defects of the machine and prepared it for resumption of casting.

He added that due to their efforts, the company could revive the continuous casting activities after years and achieved the new record.

Fakhri went on to say that coordination, speed and accuracy are the pre-requisites of such a success.

He added that in the Fly Tundish operation, the Tundish which carries the melted material is replaced without any halt to the casting process and this should happen in 3 minutes otherwise it will harm the melting process.

Fakhri reiterated that the achievement was the result of 96 hours of continuous production, and about 12,000 meters of hot slap steel without any defect were produced.

He reiterated that Fly Tundish operation is innately a risky and dangerous operation and it needs experience and accuracy.

Studies for Launching Pilot Projects on the MSC’s Agenda

During the meeting, Mr. Azimian hailed the personnel and custodians of safety issues the company, reiterating that as it had been emphasized earlier, any incident in the company would cause heavy losses and to prevent any incident, the company should study any incidents and the reasons behind them to prevent probable future incidents.

Meanwhile a report on the quality of the company’s products was presented in the meeting and Mr. Azimian once again underlined the importance of the quality of products.

He noted that undoubtedly, the quality of the raw material can have undeniable impact on the final productions, adding that by employing experts and accurate controls, all should help the gradual growth in the quality of the products.

Then managers of units of the company presented their reports on the performance of each unit in the first four months of the current year.

Reacting to reports, Mr. Azimian said that research teams of the company should have certain programs for boosting production of certain products and they should provide the condition in collaboration with the production units.

He also pointed to the importance of launching a pilot unit for production of some new products in the units, adding that while such a pilot currently exists in the iron-making unit of the company, new pilots should be launched in other units after thorough studies, reiterating that those pilots can reduce cost of products and boost quality and accuracy of them.

Cultural Development Above Economic and Political Developments

In meeting with the personnel of public relations of the company, Mr. Azimian said that cultural and media power with huge penetration rate supports other powers like political, economic and military powers in materializing the goals, stipulating that big powers resort to the soft power of culture and propagation to attract the public opinion and to control the minds of their addressees in order to achieve their economic, political and military goals.

On the importance of the specialty in the public relations performance, Mr. Azimian said that the approach and angle of views of experts in the public relations should be defined and fixed otherwise it not only will be ineffective but also may have opposite results.

He went on to say that organizational integrity is the main output of public relations, adding that the supremacy of intellectual power should dominate supremacy of financial power.

Azimian underscored that public relations offices should help the organizations in the tough times.

Meanwhile in the meeting, head of the public relations of the MSC Mr. Iraj Torabi hailed Mr. Azimian’s attention to the significance of the public relations, adding that the public relations office of the company would do its best to be a reliable link between the management and the body of the company. He went on to say that all personnel of the public relations office of the company would work hard for materializing the policies of the high-ranking officials of the company.

MSC Ranks First in Tax-Paying

Hamid Reza Azimian said in 1979 and before the Islamic Revolution, steel production in the country barely reached 600,000 tons and the country imported around 4m tons of steel but today at the 40^th anniversary of the revolution, Iran’s steel industry with production capacity of 32m tons is producing around 25m tons annually.

Azimian pointed to the current status of Iran among the world steel-makers, adding that it is because of endeavors of steel-industry activists.

He reiterated that Iran ranked 35^th in 1979 but today it has improved its standing to the 10^th place.

Azimian added that Mobarakeh Steel Company is currently producing 10.2m tons of steel and it accounts for 50 percent of national steel production and it has managed to complete its production chain.

He went on to say that currently, Mobarakeh Steel Company ranks first among production units and companies in terms of paying tax and it ranks second among the companies which are listed in the stock market.

Azimian reiterated that all staff and managers of the company are committed and determined to keep production in any condition and more than 350,000 people are directly or indirectly involved with the company.

He then highlighted some achievements of the company in research and development and cooperation with the academic sector.

Azimian noted that one of the major achievements of the company is the indigenization and using the domestic companies, adding that 80 percent of parts of the mills are provided domestically.

MSC Sets New Record for Production

Head of Hot Rolling Mill of Mobarakeh Steel Company Mr. Ali Akbarian said that production in the Hot Rolling Mill has passed half a million tons in the first month of the current year, adding that it is a new record.

He said due to endeavors of the staff and management of the company, the company produced 500,272 tons of products and it is a source of pride for the company. The previous record of the company had been set last September which was 498,869 tons.

He added that the company produced 116054 tons of thin products with high quality in its subsidiary Saba Steel Complex and 65051 tons of sponge iron in the Sefid Dasht Steel Company of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari.

Akbarian added that the current success is an important stride towards reaching the annual target of Hot Rolling Mill and Mobarakeh Steel Company.

He then highlighted the significance of such an achievement, adding that it will lead to the boost in the quality of support and repair.

He reiterated that the quality output in the hot roll unit improved from 99.55 percent in last September to 99.59 percent in mid-April.

Minister Hails Performance of Mobarakeh Steel Company

After listening to the Mobarakeh Steel Company Manager Mr. Hamid Reza Azimian’s report, Mr Rahmani praised the measures taken by the MSC in this biggest national steel-manufacturing group and called it valuable and appreciable.

He called for retaining current level of production, adding that in the current condition, boosting efficiency and employing all current capacities is very crucial.

Rahmani added that indigenizing equipment and parts which are used in the national steel industry and completing all projects like electrode production line of Ardekan are crucial.

In the meeting, the CEO of the steel-manufacturing group Mr. Azimian highlighted major performance of the MSC in the last Iranian calendar year and announced major programs for the current year, adding that the MSC is determined to boost production.

Azimian noted that all targets of the group for producing sponge iron in the past year have been materialized and the personnel of the MSC would do their best to materialize the objectives which have been set by the Supreme Leader for this year.

He added that the group eyes the production of 8.5m tons of raw steel, 6.5m tons of hot coil and more than 1.5m tons of raw coil in its units this year and it has planned production of 11m tons of sponge iron in its subsidiary unit in Chaharmahal Bakhtiari.

He also pointed to the new achievements of the MSC in producing especial sheets for auto-makers and pipe-manufacturers, adding that by the 85-percent growth in offering the products in the market since four years ago, the imports of flat steel has decreased from 4m tons to 850,000 tons and it is a big achievement for self-sufficiency.

Major steelmakers export over 4.7mn tons in 10 months

Iran’s major steelmakers exported more than 4.715 million tons in the 10 months of the current Iranian calendar (March 21 – Jan. 21), so that Khuzestan province accounts for about 39 percent of country’s total steel production share.

According to the statistical tables of large steelmaking companies [including Khuzestan Steel Co. (KSC) and Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company (EMSCO)], country’s total exports volume experienced a significant 19 percent decline in 10 months of current year (March 21 – Jan. 21) as compared to the same period of last year.

Total steel exports volume of the mentioned company in the current Iranian month of Dey (Dec. 21 – Jan. 21) hit 349,597 tons, showing a considerable 49 percent slump as compared to the last year’s corresponding period.

Moreover, rebar exports registered a considerable growth in Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company (EMSCO), so that 3,849 tons of rebar was exported from the country in the Iranian month of Dey (Dec. 21 – Jan. 21), recording a significant 149 percent growth as compared to the same period of last year.

In this regard, Khuzestan Steel Company exported 1,840,000 tons of steel in 10-month period (March 21 – Jan. 21), 175,971 tons of which was produced in the company from Dec. 21, 2018 to Jan. 21, 2019.

MSC’s Capital Grows by 73%

TEHRAN – Head of financial department of Mobarakeh Steel Company says the capital of the company has grown by 73 percent.

Mr. Tahmoures Javanbakht said that by the Securities and Exchange Organization issued licence for Mobarakeh Steel Company to increase its capital through its retained earnings.

He went on to say that accordingly, the capital of the company was increased from 7,500 to 13,000b tomans.

He went on to say that this increase in the capital is aimed at reforming the financial structure of the company regarding its costs for completing under construction projects, cooperation in boosting the capitals of the subsidiary companies, possessing the long term investments and working capital for the future plans.

He reiterated that by registration of this increase in the capital, Mobarakeh Steel Company would turn into the biggest company which has been registered in the stock market.

Javanbakht added that the emergency general assembly meeting of the company is to hold on Wednesday.

He also pointed to the brilliant achievement of the company in the past nine months in the current year, adding that the company witnessed 46% growth comparing to the same period in the preceding year.

Mobarakeh Steel Company was ranked as one of the top ten companies of the country in the essential metals.

MSC Celebrates Another Accolade in Innovation Festival

TEHRAN – Mobarakeh Steel Company won another prestigious award to prove its capability in innovation and production.

During the Third National Iranian Product Innovation Festival which was held at Sharif University, Mobarakeh Steel Company was awarded with golden statute and top award for its new product of galvanized coil.

After receiving the award, head of marketing research and planning of the company Mr. Gholamreza Taheri pointed to the characteristics of the new innovation and product of the company. He said that the new galvanized coils are very strong with high resistance against the atmospheric corrosion.

He went on to say that the new product is also coated with characteristics of the S350GD galvanized products which boost the strength and resistance of the product against the atmospheric corrosion.

Taheri added that in the past, this product was imported, adding that during the designing process, the company takes into consideration the design in terms of its commercial aspect.

He reiterated that design and production is in a way that the product could be used in the domestic national production process and some major companies are currently using the products.

He added that this innovation saved the country about $80m by indigenizing the whole process of galvanized coated steel.
