MSC Ranks First in Tax-Paying
 TEHRAN – The CEO of Mobarakeh Steel Company says the company is offspring of Islamic Republic and it has achieved significant progress in industry and production of strategic goods.

Hamid Reza Azimian said in 1979 and before the Islamic Revolution, steel production in the country barely reached 600,000 tons and the country imported around 4m tons of steel but today at the 40th anniversary of the revolution, Iran’s steel industry with production capacity of 32m tons is producing around 25m tons annually.

Azimian pointed to the current status of Iran among the world steel-makers, adding that it is because of endeavors of steel-industry activists.

He reiterated that Iran ranked 35th in 1979 but today it has improved its standing to the 10th place.

Azimian added that Mobarakeh Steel Company is currently producing 10.2m tons of steel and it accounts for 50 percent of national steel production and it has managed to complete its production chain.

He went on to say that currently, Mobarakeh Steel Company ranks first among production units and companies in terms of paying tax and it ranks second among the companies which are listed in the stock market.

Azimian reiterated that all staff and managers of the company are committed and determined to keep production in any condition and more than 350,000 people are directly or indirectly involved with the company.

He then highlighted some achievements of the company in research and development and cooperation with the academic sector.

Azimian noted that one of the major achievements of the company is the indigenization and using the domestic companies, adding that 80 percent of parts of the mills are provided domestically.
