Iran Army Orders Flood Relief for Victims in South East

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Army Commander of Iran forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi ordered all units of the Army to dispatch forces and equipment to serve flood relief for victims in the southeastern provinces of Sistan and Balouchestan and Kerman.

In a statement released on Monday night, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi instructed the commanders of ground, air, naval and air defense units of Iran to use all army equipment stationed in the region to help the people stuck in flood and give relief in coordination with the local crisis management department.

Earlier in the day, Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri issued an instruction after he was briefed on the latest situation in the flood-hit region.

Jahangiri urged the governors of the two provinces to do their best to provide essential elements including water and to repair the roads so that relief assistance could reach remote villages as well.

Sistan and Balouchestan has been affected in the most severe way due to record-breaking rainfall in years.

Flood poured into the two provinces inundating around 350 villages, interrupting the people live in the area.

Heavy rainfall over the last days has caused seasonal rivers to flood into towns, causing extensive damage to infrastructures and people’s homes.

‘Enemies feel pain of our slap in their face’: Army cmdr.

Speaking in a local event on Tuesday, Army’s first-in-command said that conducting major missions has more value when done without being reflected in the media, adding, “The mere fact that we put our lives on the line against enemies and they feel our slap in their face is enough for us.”

Mousavi handed awards during the ceremony to some Army personnel who had had major roles in some recent missions of the force in different sectors such as air defense, and navy.

“Some of the recent Army’s measures were not reflected in the media due to special security and intelligence considerations. And this trend will continue for some major and secret operations to safeguard the interests of the Establishment,” he said.

Army cmdr. vows ‘devastating’ military offensive in case enemies attack

“We have not been initiator of any war and will never be, however, we are not solely relying on defense; in the early stage of enemy’s attack we will defend but our offensive power and our ability to strike enemy is devastating and makes enemies regret,” he said Sunday in Tabriz while addressing a local Army unit.

Current conditions in the world and in the region are requiring forces to be more ready than ever, he said.

The commander went on to say that military readiness of Iran can foil enemies’ sinister plots against the country.

“During the Sacred Defense years [8 years of imposed Iran-Iraq war], we proved to the world the level of our adherence to Revolution’s ideals. Stronger than before, we will not budge an inch on defending our ideals and the country,” he also stressed.

Iranian Army ready to train foreign students, says Maj. Gen. Mousavi

He made the remarks Tuesday on the sideline of the graduation ceremony of a host of students in DAFOOS, here in Tehran.

Mousavi said that there has been submitted some requests for accepting foreign students in the university, adding, “the Army has required infrastructure and conditions for admission of students from other countries.”

“All that students need to improve their command, scientific level and enhance their decision-making in the military sector are available in DAFOOS, and we have no problem in accepting foreign students to prepare it for the higher levels,” he noted. “Of course, admission of students depends on diplomacy and bilateral relations [with the foreign country].”

He went on to say that some representatives of ‘friend’ countries are now receiving required training in the Iranian Army’s college.

IRGC, Army coop. ensures security of region: Mousavi

Commander of Iran’s Army Major General Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi said that cooperation between Iran’s Army and IRGC foils the plots of enemies and ensures the security of the region.

He made the remarks on Saturday in the southern city of Bandar Abbas in a ceremony held for the joining of Sahand Destroyer to Iran’s naval fleet.

The cooperation between naval forces of Army and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has entered a new season, he said, adding, “it is this will and spirit which has made us guardians of security in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormoz, and the Gulf of Oman.”

The Dominations System, headed by the United States and Israeli regime, earn revenue from destabilizing the region and this is why the Islamic Republic of Iran has been wrestling with them for 40 years, he maintained.

The world will see the collapse of these arrogant powers soon, Mousavi highlighted.

He went on to say that in times of Pahlavi regime, Iranian Navy was totally dependent on foreign forces but after the Islamic revolution, the Army unlocked its great potentials and brought many honors for the country.

‘Sahand’ destroyer joins Iran’s naval fleet

A new generation of Moudge-class destroyer, ‘Sahand’, with twice the defensive and offensive power of Jamaran destroyer, has joined Iran’s naval fleet in the Persian Gulf on Saturday.

At the order of Commander of Iran’s Army Major General Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, ‘Sahand’ destroyer, a next-gen Moudge-class, has joined Iran’s naval fleet in the Persian Gulf on Saturday and is ready to carry out missions on open and international waters.

‘Sahand’ is said to have twice the defensive and offensive power of Jamaran destoyer, with an upgraded torpedo tube, various types of anti-air and anti-surface weapons, surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, and a point-defense system.

Sahand is also equipped with an anti-submarine system and a stealth system, and enjoys a higher maneuverability and increased operational range.

According to the report, Sahand is equipped with four powerful engines, which is more than the number of engines of Jamaran destroyer, and thus, is more advanced than Jamaran in terms of maneuvering performance.

Sahand is also capable of sailing on turbulent waters and distant oceans for 150 days while accompanied by a support vessel.

On Thursday, two Ghadir-class submarines capable of launching subsurface-to-surface missiles, torpedoes and mines joined Iran’s naval fleet.
