TEHRAN – Former Persepolis football team striker Eamon Zayed extended his sympathy to the victims of the powerful earthquake that hit regions in Iran and Iraq Sunday night.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Iran affected by the devastating earthquake that has killed and injured so many people. Most devastating earthquake in the world in 2017 to date!” Zayed said in a message posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday.
The quake killed at least 474 people and injured nearly 10,000 in Iran.
An estimated 15,000 houses were destroyed, leaving some 70,000 people homeless.
The earthquake is the deadliest of the year.
