Chinese Pursue Implementation of Financing Tehran-Isfahan Railway
Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development and the CEO of Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company Kheyrollah Khademi says the Chinese persistently pursue implementation of financing the Tehran-Isfahan railway as the amount of China’s financing in Iran has reached 3.8b yuan.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development and the CEO of Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company Kheyrollah Khademi says the Chinese persistently pursue implementation of financing the Tehran-Isfahan railway as the amount of China’s financing in Iran has reached 3.8b yuan.

Speaking to ILNA, Khademi said that there is no state credit for the express Tehran-Qom-Isfahan railway project and China has accepted to finance 3.8b yuan in this project but the economic council is reviewing to increase the ceiling of finance by the Chinese.

He noted that the Chines are cooperating in the developmental projects of the country, adding that in the field of transport infrastructures, the project of express Tehran-Qom-Isfahan railway project is underway through finance of the Chinese.

Khademi reiterated there is no problem in implementation of this project and the Chinese persistently seek financing this project. He added that some issue has been raised in the economic council that there should be a ceiling for the amount of financing as in the past 4m euros of the financing had been activated and it should now reach 13m euros which is the ceiling.

He added that so far the ceiling for this project is 3.8b yuan and the council is reviewing the case for increasing the ceiling.

On the latest decisions over financing the Rasht-Astara railway and the outcome of talks with Russia, he said that in the past days a Russian delegation once again visited the route and the actions taken in this project as Russians are interested in helping the implementation of the project through investment.

Khademi further said that of course the government has had its own predictions for the start of the operation and its finance through its resources and at the same time talks with Russia for financing the project are underway and expressed hope the talks would bear fruits very soon.
