TEHRAN (Iran News) –Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei received the members of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution on Tuesday afternoon.
Addressing the meeting attended by President Ebrahim Raisi, Ayatollah Khamenei took a jab at those who are infatuated with Western culture.
The Islamic Revolution considered the culture of “infatuation with the West” and even the use of foreign words to be another false cultural statement ruling the society, and the Islamic Revolution changed this false statement and turned it into a culture of “objection to the West”, the Leader remarked.
In the meeting, the Leader underlined the need for the “revolutionary reconstruction of the country’s cultural structure,” state news IRNA reported.
“The Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution should provide scientific solutions for the spread of correct and forward-moving statements by observing and knowing the weaknesses and false statements of culture in different fields,” Ayatollah Khamenei suggested.
The Leader said the most important duty of the Council is to lead the country and society culturally.
Elaborating on the need to reconstruct the cultural structure of the country, the Leader said, “The meaning of structure is the cultural structure of the society and the mentality and culture that governs it, and in a word, the software that the people of the society act on the basis of in their individual and collective lives.”
He added, “The reason that the structure should be reconstructed in a revolutionary manner is because the Islamic Revolution was miraculous through the leadership of the Imam [Khomeini] and the people’s movement, and with its aggressive spirit, it changed the political, cultural and social foundations and the false propositions ruling the minds of the people.”
