Iran to Begin E-Trade With Russia, Iraq, Turkey
The CEO of National Post Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran says the company has started talks for e-trade with Russia and Iraq and Turkey.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –The CEO of National Post Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran says the company has started talks for e-trade with Russia and Iraq and Turkey.

Speaking in a press conference which was held on the occasion of World Post Day, Mahmoud Liaee pointed to the low postal services per capita in Iran, and added that the postal services per capita in the developed countries is a big number for example China has the biggest postal services per capita in the word.

He went on to say that the postal services per capita is 7, adding that almost 50% of the postal activities in the country is done by National Post Company.

Liaee reiterated that the company is run based on the incomes and if it cannot make money, it will be unable to upgrade its infrastructures for serving the people.

He added that the company offers some 170 postal services to the citizens, adding that the company is an establishment body and in the world some part of the post is under the control of the government and establishment. He reiterated that the developed countries are struggling with the problems like Iran’s post company is struggling and tariff is the main problem.

Liaee stressed that the company is working to become a platform in order to minimize the government’s control. He also said that this year the postal tariffs have not changed base on the real costs and the company suffers losses.

He admitted recent unrests and disrupt in the internet system have reduced the revenues of the company by one-thirds. He said that for years officials have urged businessmen to shift their online businesses to the domestic platforms to avoid losses during the internet disrupt but unfortunately businesses have not paid any attention and now they are suffering.

On the international e-trade, he said that international post services are underway like previous years as some countries receive the parcels but they refrain from sending their postal parcels to Iran and the company has tried hard to stop this one-sided trade and it could normalize postal relation with South Korea but still some countries have not normalized postal cooperation with Iran.

Liaee went on to say that National Post Company intends to broaden its international e-trade and it has taken some actions for cooperation with Iraq, Turkey and Turkey and talks with a Russian post company has started for using platforms of each other for sales and sending logistics.
