President Raisi in Muscat to Bolster All-Out Ties With Oman
President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Oman on Monday for a one-day visit to meet Omani sultan and senior officials to expand relations.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Oman on Monday for a one-day visit to meet Omani sultan and senior officials to expand relations.

Raisi was accorded official reception shortly in Al-Alam Palaceand was to meet with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said.

Before his departure for Muscat, President Raisi said, “My visit to Oman is very important for the development of the policy of neighborly relations with neighboring countries and the region, and in our negotiations we will pursue the development of bilateral and regional relations”.

Speaking to reporters,Raisi talked about the goals of his official visit to Oman, noting that this visit is being made at the official invitation of Mr Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman, and said, “There is good relations between is the Islamic Republic of Iran and the friendly, brotherly and neighboring country of Oman”.

The President said that the current level of relations between Tehran and Muscat is not favorable for the two countries, adding: “The decision and will of both countries is to improve the level of relations in the fields of trade, transportation, energy, tourism and especially health tourism”.

Stating that a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the two countries during the visit, Dr Raisi said, “My visit is very important in the policies of the Popular Government’s for the development of neighborly relations with neighboring countries and the region”.

The President stated that the two countries are currently cooperating constructively in various fields, adding, “A significant point in the region is that dialogue and cooperation between the countries of the region is security-building. The presence of foreign forces in the region does not provide security at all and can even threaten the security of the region”.

Ayatollah Raisi expressed hope that this visit would be an effective step towards realizing the policies and goals of the Popular Government to strengthen and deepen constructive relations with its neighbors.

On the sidelines of the visit, Iran minister of industry, mine, and trade Reza Fatemi-Amin and Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef signed a memorandum of understating.

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on the comprehensive development of trade cooperation between the two states.

 

Meanwhile twelve cooperation documents and a memorandum of understanding were signed between Tehran and Muscat by Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and Foreign Minister of Sultanate of Oman Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.

Amirabdollahian, who is accompanying President Raisi on his trip to Oman, met the Foreign Minister of Sultanate of Oman Sayyid Badr Albusaidi .

During the meeting with the Omani Foreign Minister, twelve cooperation documents and a memorandum of understanding were signed between the two countries in the fields of energy, transportation, industrial cooperation, and trade.

The MoUs were signed by the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Minister of Roads & Urban Development, Minister of Oil as well as the head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.

Enhancing regional dialogue and security as well as boosting the level of political, economic, and trade relations between Tehran and Muscat are among the goals of this trip to the friendly and brotherly neighboring country of Oman.
