Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Tehran Bakhodir Abdullaev says Iran’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will help the trade between Iran and Uzbekistan to grow more.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Tashkent Welcomes Tehran’s Membership in SCO. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Tehran Bakhodir Abdullaev says Iran’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will help the trade between Iran and Uzbekistan to grow more.

Speaking on the sidelines of his press conference on the upcoming presidential election in Uzbekistan, Abdullaev hailed the improvement in the bilateral trade with Iran and said that the trade volume of Tehran and Tashkent in the first half of 2021 has been around $250 and the trade balance has been almost equal.

On Iran’s admission as one of the permanent members of the SCO, the Uzbek diplomat hailed it and said his country has been one of the supporters of this membership. He expressed hope that this membership would strengthen the relations between Iran and Uzbekistan.

He also said that Uzbekistan has invited representatives of Iran’s Majlis to be present in Tashkent during the presidential election on October 24.

Abdullaev reiterated that in any international event being held in Uzbekistan some representative from Iran is present.
