Iranian citizens bought 4,600 housing units in turkey in the first eight months of this year, up 21 percent from the same period last year and about 47 percent compared to the same period in 2019, it said.

The purchase of Iranians’ housing in Turkey increased sharply since 2018 and the reimposition of the U.S. sanctions, especially the rapid drop in the value of the rial.

In the first eight months of 2017, Iranians bought only 424 housing units in Turkey, which means that the purchase of Iranians’ housing in Turkey has more than increased more than 10 times in the past four years.

Iranians also had the largest purchase of housing in Turkey among foreign citizens over the past two years, but as nuclear negotiations began and hopes of lifting sanctions increased, Iranians’ housing purchases subsided somewhat in a few months, and Iraqi citizens gained the first place among foreign citizens in buying properties in Turkey.

In August, Iranians again became the top buyout of housing in turkey among foreign citizens.

Setting a historical record of buying properties by Iranians in Turkey while statistics from the Central Bank of Iran show that housing purchases in Tehran have dropped nearly 40 percent over the past month compared to las August of 2020 and house prices have also grown by 34 percent.
