TEHRAN (Iran News) – The Italian Embassy in Tehran and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) held a two-day virtual business forum on agricultural machinery on 9-10 March 2021. The event was organized in collaboration with the two countries’ sectorial business associations (FEDERUNACOMA and ATMAK) and with the support of the bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Italy-Iran and Iran-Italy), several territorial Chambers (Iran, Arak, Isfahan, and Tehran) and Iran Chamber of Cooperatives.

In the introductory session, the Ambassador of Italy, Giuseppe Perrone, stressed the important role historically played by Italian companies in this sector and the continuing interest existing in both countries towards greater cooperation. Through the online event, a large number of participants were able to establish new contacts and discuss prospects for cooperation on a business-to-business basis in the digital platform made available by the Italian Trade Agency.

Agricultural machinery is indeed a field of traditional strength for Italian companies in Iran.  In the current scenario in which Iran is looking to strengthen its position as a regional agricultural hub, the potential for cooperation with companies is quite significant and can help further raise the productivity of Iranian businesses in the agricultural sector.
