TEHRAN (Iran News) – Ambassador of Italy to Tehran Giuseppe Perrone in meeting with Head of Iran Chamber of Cooperative (ICC) Mr. Bahman Abdollhi explored ways to boost economic relations between the two countries, especially between their cooperative sectors.
According to the report, Peronne and Abdollahi discussed ways of boosting economic interactions between the two countries in the cooperative sector due to the good cooperation capacity of Italy’s Cooperative Federation (Legacoop: Lega Nazionale delle Cooperative e Mutue).
In the meeting, Abdollahi welcomed the Italian diplomat and briefed him on the potentials of Iran’s cooperative sector. He then said cooperative in Iran enjoys an old background and Iran’s cooperative can cooperate with Italy in the fields like agriculture, agro products, industry, petrochemical, handicraft, and construction.
He also expressed the interest of ICC in boosting cooperation with Legacoop, adding that according to the plans, a memorandum of understanding is to be signed between ICC and Legacoop for boosting cooperation.
Abdollahi then pointed to the outbreak of the coronavirus and said in the current pandemic condition, the virtual capacities are used for communication with Italian cooperatives, and then dispatch of trade delegation will be put on the agenda. In the meeting, it was also decided that Italy’s commercial secretary and head of international affairs of the ICC could arrange to hold some webinars for expanding cooperative interactions between Iran and Italy.
