Tehran, Moscow Urged to Launch Joint Trade, Industrial Holdings
During a videoconference held on Wednesday, Iran and Russia were urged to form joint trade and industrial holdings in order to boost the bilateral trade cooperation.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – During a videoconference held on Wednesday, Iran and Russia were urged to form joint trade and industrial holdings in order to boost the bilateral trade cooperation.

Iran-Russia Industrial and trade videoconference was hosted by Iran Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) where the head of ITPO Mr. Hamid Zadboum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mr. Oleg Ryazantsev, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, and some of the industrial and trade activists of both countries attended.

During the conference, participants emphasized the necessity of boosting bilateral cooperation in the production of vehicles, planes, part-manufacturing, helicopters, and ship-building and exchanged views on reinforcing industrial and trade cooperation between Iran and Russia.

Addressing the conference, Zadboum called for developing cooperation between both countries and suggested the trade be added to the joint cooperation workgroup in order to seriously operationalize the trade issues of both countries.

He added the videoconference is a prelude to holding the meeting of industry workgroup of both countries in the framework of the joint commission. He noted that he expected the joint capacities of both countries, exchange of views, and the unveiled issues would lead to some agreements in these fields.

Zadboum also pointed to the free trade agreement between Iran and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), adding that this agreement can provide a good opportunity for increasing the trade volume between both countries.

He expressed hope significant horizons to be opened in the cooperation of the two countries in building passenger, cargo, and fishing ships.

Meanwhile Ryazantsev, for his part, said that Russia is ready for constructive talks with its Iranian counterpart, adding that the videoconference is a prelude for holding the meeting of the industry workgroup of Russia in the framework of the joint economic cooperation commission of both countries. He noted that he expected to unveil of projects by Iranian and Russian companies would lead to a certain agreement and it is registered as a positive point in the performance of the workgroups.

Then Iran Ambassador to Moscow Mr. Jalali raised the idea of forming joint industrial and trade holdings by Iran and Russia in order to have optimum use of the customs green corridor, adding that joint cooperation of holdings of both countries can play important role in developing commercial exchanges between Iran and Russia.

He said joint production of vehicles and their parts, sharing experiences, research in innovation regarding the design and manufacture of heavy vehicles like bus, truck, and cars, marketing, and joint investments are of the other existing capacities for joint cooperation between Iran and Russia.

He went on to say that developing trade, transit, and transportation are the other important infrastructures for cooperation.
