TEHRAN – The head of Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters said while Iran is under the most severe sanctions, it is getting ready to put the NGL project west of Karun in operation. With such an achievement, French oil company Total’s record in the Iranian oil industry will be broken.

Saeed Mohammad announced yesterday that after collecting petroleum gases in the west of Karun called NGL Karun, the gases obtained would be consumed in the houses in industrial sectors.

He said: “In addition to preventing environmental problems, this measure has an annual income of about $ 500 million for the country.”

Mohammad added: “At the same time, with the operation of the project, the record of the world-famous and large oil company, Total, which was active in the country in previous years, has be broken.”

He further said that Total Company in one of the previous projects in south of Iran set 3 percent record for monthly progress and for years it was shown as an important event and achievement and the company’s speed in the operation was talk of the town but Khatam-al Anbia Headquarters despite the harshest cruel sanctions and in a super oil project had a 3.5 percent monthly progress which is a new record in the national oil industry. Mohammad reiterated that this proves the technical capability and determination of the domestic experts are above the foreign contractors.

The commander of the headquarters noted that the project of collecting petroleum gases in West Karoun known as NGL Karoun, is a super oil project that by its operationalizing, adding that the extracted gases from the oil wells would be converted into the usable gases in the urban gas network and raw materials of the petrochemical industries while they were burned in the past and polluted the environment.

Mohammad noted that the project was launched in line with Supreme Leader’s order and it will continue with full speed to be completed.

He said it is expected the first phase of this super project to be operationalized by the yearend which will lead to considerable forex revenues and creation of jobs for the youths and domestic experts in the year of surge in the production.
