Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to visit China in the near future heading an economic and business delegation.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to visit China in the near future heading an economic and business delegation, president’s Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi said on Wednesday.

Vaezi made the announcement while speaking to Iran Press on the sideline of a cabinet meeting.

Referring to a 25-year agreement previously signed between Iran and China for comprehensive partnership, Vaezi expressed hope that during Zarif’s visit to Beijing, the Iranian and Chinese officials exchange views on the agreement.

The Sino-Iranian Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was announced in a joint statement during a visit to Tehran by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2016, Press TV wrote.

The cooperation roadmap consists of 20 articles, covering Tehran-Beijing ties in “political,” “executive cooperation,” “human and cultural,” “judiciary, security and defense,” and “regional and international” domains, according to the statement released back then.

“The document is very important for bilateral relations. It has an impact on regional issues and we hope that the deal will be finalized by the end of the current government,” Vaezi told Iran Press.
