TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian star Peyman Moadi is slated to appear in Oscar-winning director Gavin Hood’s new movie ‘The Test.’

The Iranian actor, who starred in Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning, ‘A Separation,’ will co-star John Boyega, the British-Nigerian actor whose fame mostly comes from the ‘Star Wars’ trilogy: ‘The Force Awakens,’ ‘The Last Jedi,’ and ‘The Rise of Skywalker,’ ifilmtv.com reported.

The new project, which is an adaptation of the Sylvain Neuvel’s novella ‘The Test,’ will be produced by Entertainment One, a Canadian multinational entertainment company.

‘The Test’ is a long way removed from Neuvel’s engaging trilogy of novels about alien invasion and giant robots (Sleeping Giants, Waking Gods and Only Human). ‘The Test’ is a black mirror-style concept which posits a fairly extreme form of British citizenship test.

Hood’s ‘Tsotsi’ (2005) won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Moadi has so far appeared in several award-winning films such as ‘About Elly,’ ‘Melbourne,’ and ‘Life and a Day.’

His role in Farhadi’s ‘A Separation’ won him the Silver Bear award at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.

He has also written some screenplays and directed a number of successful movies such as ‘The Snow on the Pines,’ which won the Audience Award for Best Film at the 31st Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
