TEHRAN (Iran News) – Head of the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) emphasized on Tuesday that no power can harm the Iran’s exports and imports, noting that free trade is Iran’s right.

CEO of the NITC Nasrollah Sardashti also said that Iran must make more efforts to promote the authority of its national fleet.

Addressing a national gathering on the occasion of the International Maritime Day (September 29), the official said the NITC has successfully helped the country in the field of oil exports despite all problems and wrongdoing against Iran.

“When sanctions are imposed, the Ministry of Petroleum, the National Iranian Tanker Company and the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line Group are the main targets of the embargoes and this indicates the importance of the national fleet,” Sardashti added.

He stressed that under sanctions, Iran cannot count on foreign ships for its exports as foreign countries ban their vessels to enter Iran’s territorial waters at the time of sanctions, however, “no one can undermine exports and imports of the country.”

The CEO of the National Iranian Tanker Company stated that exporting gasoline to Venezuela may not be considered a big deal, but it showed the strength of the national fleet to break the sanctions.

“Free trade is Iran’s right and no one can stop us,” Sardashti stressed.

He concluded by saying that the fleet of the National Oil Tanker Company has no problem in supplying low sulfur fuel, and the Arak refinery has solved the fuel supply problem.
