Shajarian, Maestro of Traditional Music to Be Out of Hospital Soon
The living legend of Persian traditional music, Mohammadreza Shajarian, will be discharged from hospital and continue his treatment at home.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The living legend of Persian traditional music, Mohammadreza Shajarian, will be discharged from hospital and continue his treatment at home, reported the head of the board of directors of Jam Hospital in Tehran.

According to IRNA, the necessary actions are being taken to discharge the vocalist from the hospital, he said.

“Today (August 22), Shajarian’s general, cardiac and pulmonary/respiratory conditions are stable and better than the day before and if this process continues, we can discharge him in the coming days.” Babak Heidari-Aqdam added.

Shajarian was admitted to the ICU of Jam Hospital in Tehran on August 15, due to a drop in consciousness, hypotension and septic shock.

On February, Shajarian had been also hospitalized due to recurrence of lung disorders caused by heart disease and later his son Homayoun Shajarian on February 21 relieved Shajarian’s fans by publishing a picture of his father’s vital signs.

The senior vocalist was discharged from the hospital on March 24 in a good general condition, and according to the hospital, his treatment was performed outside the hospital under the supervision of the treating physicians.
