Iran Seeing All-out, Cordial Cooperation with Turkey
President Hassan Rouhani stressed in a telephone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 31 that Iran is firm to promote all-out and friendly ties and cooperation with Turkey.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – President Hassan Rouhani stressed in a telephone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 31 that Iran is firm to promote all-out and friendly ties and cooperation with Turkey.

President Rouhani congratulated Erdogan on the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) to the people and government of Turkey hoping that Tehran and Ankara will make proper efforts to control the coronavirus pandemic through further mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences to this end, IRNA reported.

Referring to certain regional developments, the Iranian president expressed hope that “peace and security will be back to the region with the help and support of all regional states.”

President Rouhani further referred to the cruel sanctions imposed by the US on the Iranian nation and said, “Under present circumstances, friendly states such as Iran and Turkey have to boost bilateral relations and cooperation more than ever.”

Meanwhile, the Turkish president urged the need to upgrade bilateral trade and economic cooperation and facilitate boosting Tehran-Ankara relations while observing health protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Erdogan also expressed hope that the two capital will soon hold a meeting of Iran-Turkey Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation.

Formed for the first time ever in the history of bilateral relations, the council was established in June 2014, to help the expansion of bilateral cooperation. It comprises members of the two countries’ cabinet ministers.

The Turkish president also congratulated Eid al-Adha on the Iranian government and nation.
