ICT Minister Says Iran to Send Five More Satellites This Year
Iran is to send five satellites into the orbit by the end of its current calendar year (March 19, 2021) in coordination with the Ministry of Defense.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran is to send five satellites into the orbit by the end of its current calendar year (March 19, 2021) in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, said the minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

According to Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, his ministry plans to implement 10 projects in the final year of the administration of President Hassan Rouhani which is to end in 2021, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported on Wednesday.

Jahromi added that most of the 10 projects will be in the field of space research activities, development of national information network infrastructure, cyberspace, and public relations.

He noted that his ministry also plans to use “a large Iranian supercomputer which is one of the top 500 computers in the world and plays a key role in information processing.

Jahromi further referred to the supercomputer as “one of the artificial intelligence infrastructures” that will be put into operation in February.
