US' next administration must be accountable for actions made by its predecessor that was harmful for the Iranian nation, Zarif says.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said no matter who will be the winner of the next US presidential elections, the country’s next administration must be responsible for actions made by its predecessor that was harmful for Iran.

Zarif made the remarks while addressing a virtual meeting of the Mediterranean Dialogue (MED 2020) on Monday, IRNA reported.

“Anyone who will become the next US president should work for compensating the losses that have been imposed by the US on Iran,” Zarif said.

As defined in its official website, the “Mediterranean Dialogues is the annual high-level initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ISPI (Italian Institute for International Political Studies) in Rome with the aim to rethink traditional approaches to the area complementing analyses of current challenges with new ideas and suggestions and to draft a new “positive agenda”, addressing shared challenges at both the regional and the international level.”

Italian diplomatic mission in Tehran in a Twitter message on July 4 had said, “We‘re pleased 2 announce that on July 6, 6:30PM (Tehran Time) Dr. @JZarif is joining #Med2020 Virtual Dialogues.”
