54,000 Tons of Cement Exported from Iran to Afghanistan This Year
A total of 54,000 tons of cement have been exported to Afghanistan from the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan in Iran.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – A total of 54,000 tons of cement have been exported to Afghanistan from the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan in Iran since the beginning of the current calendar year (March 20), said a local official.

The cargos have been transported by 2,056 trucks through Milak border crossing during the period, said Ayoub Kord, the head of the Roads and Urban Development Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, reported Fars News Agency.

With an annual production of 87 million tons, Iran ranks sixth in the world in terms of the capacity of its cement industry.

Of this amount, nearly 61 million tons are annually consumed domestically and over 11 million tons exported.

Neighboring states are among the destinations of Iran’s cement exports. They also seek to import the cement production technology from Iran.
