The process of decoding the black box of Ukrainian Plane will start under the supervision of an Iranian team of experts in France on July 20.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Mohsen Baharvand said the process of decoding the black box of Ukrainian Plane will start under the supervision of an Iranian team of experts in France on July 20.

Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization has made necessary correspondence with the air crash analysis organization of France and the final agreements have been made, Baharvand said while elaborating on measures taken to follow up decoding the Ukrainian plane black box, IRNA reported.

The Ukrainian aircraft, a Boeing 737 passenger plane, was shot down unintentionally by an Iranian rocket near Tehran on January 8, 2020. All 176 passengers and crew were killed in the tragic incident which happened when the US had heightened tensions in Western Asia by assassinating Iran’s anti-terrorist commander Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani on January 3, 2020.

According to Baharvand other countries related to the tragic incident can send a representative to France to supervise the decoding process too.

Earlier, the Iranian Judiciary’s spokesman Gholam Hossein Esmaeili had said that six people were arrested in the case pertaining to the crash of the Ukrainian airliner.

“The legal part of the Ukrainian airplane crash is on the Judiciary, namely the Judiciary Organization of the Armed Forces. Some orders were made immediately after the crash and a special branch of the military court was specified for the case,” Esmaeili said.

The commander of Aerospace Force of the IRGC Brigadier-General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh admitted full responsibility for the tragic air disaster.
