TEHRAN (Iran News) – New regulations related to sports events will be introduced from Thursday or Saturday, said Mehrzad Khalilian, head of Sports Medicine Federation of Iran.
The regulations will allow the resumption of activities that can be organized indoors, without an audience, across the country.
“The sportspersons will hear good news soon and I hope everything goes well. Coronavirus cases in Iran have decreased and we hope to announce the good news until Saturday,” Khalilian said.
Iranian Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi had said the initial protocols have been approved by Iran’s Health Ministry and Sports Ministry but the football federation will make a final decision about the resumption.
“With nine weeks remaining, we can finish the current Iran league season in six weeks. The teams will have three weeks to prepare for the competition,” Harirchi said.
