Iran, Tajikistan Stress on Boosting Ties
Iran President Hassan Rouhani and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon underlined the need for strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran President Hassan Rouhani and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon underlined the need for strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, the presidents of Iran and Tajikistan congratulated each other on the arrival of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and wished the acceptance of the worship of the two nations in this month.

Rouhani and Rahmon discussed the latest state of ties and cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan in various fields.

They stressed the historical, religious, and cultural common grounds between the two nations and the friendly and brotherly relations between the two governments, and called for further developing cooperation and relations.

They also referred to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the difficulties and problems it has created for most countries in the world and stressed the need for efforts and interaction between officials of the two countries to develop cooperation and share experiences in combatting the disease.

The two sides also highlighted the importance of the efforts of the two countries’ officials to restore trade and economic relations to the previous routine with full observance of health protocols, adding that the two nations and the two governments of Iran and Tajikistan have always been, and will be, together.

Referring to Iran’s success in the production of coronavirus diagnostic kits and other equipment needed to fight the coronavirus, Rouhani said, “We are ready to meet the needs of Tajikistan (in the coronavirus battle) as much as possible as a friendly and brotherly country.”

Rahmon praised Iran’s success in the fight against coronavirus and the government’s wise management of the crisis, and said, “Increasing relations and cooperation with Iran is one of the key policies of Tajikistan in its foreign relations.”
