SEZ “Sea Port Aktau”, QCCIMA Agree to Implement a Joint Project in Aktau

TEHRAN – As a follow-up of a recent meeting of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Iran,

Mr. Askhat Orazbay with officials of the Qazvin Province, on 18 February 2020, a visit of the leadership of the Special Economic Zone “Sea Port Aktau” located on the Caspian Sea to Qazvin was organized with a support and facilitation of the Kazakh Embassy in Tehran. The delegation was led by the Board Chairman of the Special Economic Zone Mr. Bekbol Orynbassarov.

Within the framework of the visit there were held a meeting with Deputy Governor of Qazvin Province on Economic issues Mr. Issa Qobadi and representatives of the local business, a meeting with the President of Qazvin Chamber of Commerce Mr. Mehdi Bakhshandeh and the members of the Chamber as well as site visits to the leading companies of the province and Anzali Sea port were organized.

The main result of the visit has become an agreement achieved by the SEZ “Sea Port Aktau” and Qazvin Chamber of Commerce on implementation of a joint project on building an Industrial-Commercial Complex on the territory of the SEZ “Sea Port Aktau” with the total amount of investment about 15 million of Euro which will facilitate in exporting Iranian goods to Kazakhstan and Central Asia and vise-versa.

The Complex will be located on a 5-hectares area on the Kazakh part of the Caspian Sea.
