TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian karate fighter Hamideh Abbasali snatched a gold medal at the Karate 1-Premier League Paris on Sunday.
She beat Meltem Hocaoglu Akyol from Turkey 6-3 in the Female Kumite +68kg final match.
Abbasali had previously defeated Denmark’s Sofie Abild, Slovakian Dominika Tatarova, Anne Florentin from France and Bulgarian Aleksandra Stubleva in the weight category.
More than 700 competitors from 92 countries took part at the three-day event in Paris, France.
The competition also served as qualification event of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
