TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran Ambassador to Muscat Mohammad Reza Nouri-Shahroudi and Oman Education Minister Madeeha bint Ahmed al-Shibaniyah met on Wednesday to explore the ways of boosting academic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Shahroudi highlighted the huge capacities in the field of science, technology, research, and modern technological innovation in Iran and the importance of academic cooperation that can increase the capabilities of both Iran and Oman.

Referring to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries on reestablishing a Persian Language Teaching Center in Muscat, he said that good efforts have been made in this respect and it will hopefully be reopened.

The Omani minister, for her part, welcomed enhancing mutual ties and expressed her readiness for visiting Iran and closely seeing the country’s educational achievements.

According to cooperation in this field, last year in December, Iran’s Persian Gulf University and the Iraqi University of Wasit have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in line with the goals to boost the scientific and research cooperation between the two countries.

The later agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Fourth Forum of Iranian and Arab Universities held at the Ferdowsi University of Mashad later that day.
