According To Iran News, The managing director of Central Organization Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC) has underlined setting up of special trade corridor and opening a banking credit line between Iran and Turkey for enhancing economic relations.

The CEO of CORC Mr. Hossein Shirzad yesterday hosted a delegation from National Cooperative Union of Turkey (NCTU) led by Muammer Niksarli and during the meeting both sides explored ways to expand cooperation especially in agriculture sector.

During the meeting, Mr. Shirzad said that the CORC can easily take action for creating a trade corridor for exchange of goods as well as opening joint credit lines through the trusted banks, and by expanding economic relations, both countries will witness a win-win cooperation.

He added that exploiting experience of Turkey’s cooperatives can have profitable achievements for Iranian cooperatives because Iranian countries are currently passing from the production-oriented stage to a market-oriented stage as Turkey has experienced this stage very successfully.

He also pointed to Iran’s saffron production and its quality, adding that in terms of production, Iran accounts for 90 percent of saffron production of the world. He added that Iran and Turkey can launch a joint brand for the saffron, adding that processing and packing is a good and useful pathway for both countries, reiterating that this cooperation will be profitable for both states and it can put an end to the monopoly of other rivals who sell Iranian saffron with their own brands.

Shirzad went on to say that cooperatives of Iran and Turkey can cooperate in exchange of agro goods which could be a profitable business, adding that they can launch a safe logistic corridor for transfer of Turkish products to the Central Asian markets.

Meanwhile the managing director of NCTU Mr. Niksarli, for his part, welcomed Mr. Shirzad’s  proposals  and invited all Iranian economic activists to pay a visit to an exhibition on production of Turkey’s cooperatives companies which will be held in Turkey in December.
