TEHRAN (Iran News) – The 33rd International Islamic Unity Conference opened on Thursday in presence of President Hassan Rouhani and over 350 elites and figures from 93 countries.

Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Ayatollah Mohsen Araki and 250 Sunni clerics of Iran are present in the international conference, IRNA reported.

The 33rd International Islamic Unity Conference is planned to mainly focus on the unity of the Muslim Ummah to defend al-Aqsa Mosque.

Ayatollah Araki has already said that the International Conference will prove that the sanctions are ineffective and cannot isolate the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On the sidelines of the four-day international Islamic conference, foreign guests will meet the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Referring to the 10 commission being held in this summit, Ayatollah Araki stressed that “We have three Palestinian committees at the conference, and we are going to condemn the efforts of the United States to transfer the embassy to Al-Quds because Israel has no legitimacy to have capital in Palestine.
He stressed that the subject of unity today is evaluated better than the past. In the past, we witnessed a fake unity, but today, after the war against divisions, some communities have been formed to support unity and are more powerful than the past, which is why divisions and strife in the Islamic world are declining.
the 32nd edition of International Islamic Unity Conference on the occasion of Unity Week and the birthday of God’s final messenger, the Great Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is scheduled to be held from the 24th to 26th of November, 2018 (16-18 lunar calendar month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1440) in Iran, Tehran Summit Hall.
