Canada Not Disciplined against Iran, Coach Says

According To Iran News Canada lost to Iran 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-19) at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men’s World Cup on Friday.

Canada volleyball coach Daniel Lewis says they need to be a little bit more disciplined and better on defense.

“It was a good game for the most part by our team. Iran played well and executed its middle attack very well against us. We had problems finding solutions for this. We probably need to be a little bit more disciplined and better on defense, and then I think we’d have a few more opportunities,” Lewis said.

“Our guys fought hard and fought well and they never gave up, so I was happy about that. We’ll probably have to take a look at the video and see how we can get a bit more efficient in transition. At tight moments, we missed a few opportunities that I think changed the game, but I’m proud of the guys. They fought for the whole match and we’ll keep searching for our first victory,” he added.

“I think because of the nature of this tournament there’s not a lot of time to train. You can’t practice a lot so you have to be patient and you have to manage frustrations. It will get more difficult to get a win because we could potentially get more frustrated. I think we’re doing this well,” the Canadian coach concluded.
