One of the experts in the health economics believes accelerating the process for privatizing state-run offices is one of the best ways for implementing agility

Mr. Seyed Mohammad Reza Hossini is a PhD Holder in Financial Management with great experience in health economics. He is currently the CEO of BATABKARA International Economic and Investment Consultancy Company.

In an interview with IRAN NEWS, he defended privatization as one of the best means of agility in the businesses especially in the health sector.

He said the main goal behind launching BATABKAR Company is that it would be a scientific economic enterprise rather than a political center. He added that the center has turned into a hub for presence of experts and the outputs of their meetings and views are all scientific and logical.

Hosseini added that since he attaches great importance to the health sector, the company mainly focuses on the health sector and its chains of think-tankers in the country have gathered in medical and health sector.

He criticized the state-run economy and especially the policy of governments for doing business, reiterating that 85 percent of Iran’s economy is currently totally state-run and day by day it becomes heavier and more inefficient and it has never learned to be agile.

Hosseini added that his company sends the latest results of its studies in each industry to the related officials in those industries.

He went on to say that when First Vice-President priced the rate of dollar at 4200 tomans, the company sent a letter to the presidential office in which it reiterated that the government’s policy would lead to corruption and rent-seeking.

On privatization in the health sector, he said that during the past five years, he once and again has warned the Health Ministry that it would face problem for paying salaries of its staff and doctors.

He added that his remarks and forecast were not because he is fortuneteller or metaphysicians and it was an expert viewpoint. Hosseini added that the annual 17 percent growth in the monetary base by the banks was the best indication that the ministry would face problem in its budget. He reiterated he announces today that health ministry has no way but privatization and it is better to privatize those profitable sectors in the health ministry as soon as possible.

He reiterated that wisdom should dominate in the health ministry and it should think of downsizing the ministry and one of the best ways for agility and downsizing is to accelerate the process for privatization.

Hosseini also admitted the country has acted poorly in health tourism as the country has the best doctors of the region and the world.

He added that currently the ministry has not set exact definition for health ministry and the current health tourists enter the country through middlemen and sometimes it has created problems.

He also hailed the health ministry for moving towards transparency, adding that health ministry is the first ministry in the country which has taken major step for transparency and it id appreciable.
