He said that small banks in South Korea have no problems for opening accounts for Iranian students or Iranians who reside in South Korea and those banks easily handle banking services for Iranians.

On the recent economic developments of Iran and South Korea, Firouzi said that although food and medicines are among the humanitarian items, there should be no problem for purchase of them but no major development happened in this field till a couple of months ago. He noted due to Iran’s embassy in Seoul and its efforts, this problem was solved and the banking and transportation problem for trade of pharmaceutical raw material and medical equipment has been resolved.

Firouzi admitted the problem for transactions with major South Korean banks is still unresolved. On the imports of home appliances from south Korea, he said imports of home appliances from South Korea have fallen sharply and it has been restricted to some certain appliances and parts.
