Tehran, Islamabad Emphasize Boosting Trade
TEHRAN – Iran and Pakistan yesterday called for boosting bilateral trade exchange which is currently in unsatisfactory level for two neighboring states.

Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mr. Reza Rahmani yesterday met Pakistan Ambassadpr to Tehran Ms. Riffat Masood and during the meeting both sides emphasized strengthening economic relations and trade exchanges.

Mr. Rahmani in the meeting pointed to Pakistan Prime Minister’s recent visit to Tehran, adding that both sides in that meeting had called for exploiting the economic and trade opportunities between both states.

Mr Rahmani added that activating the border markets and identifying problems of traders is one of the ways for opening the ground for boosting bilateral trade relations.

Rahmani added that he is to pay a visit to Pakistan soon in order to operationalize the agreements between both countries.

He also hailed Pakistan for pursuing the agreements, adding that both sides’ will for constructive trade cooperation is one of the important points and it is expected that by adopting measures and more involvement of private sectors of both countries, both sides would get positive results in the near future.

Pakistan Ambassador Mr. Masood welcomed the minister’s proposals, adding that Pakistan is after boosting its all-out cooperation with Iran, admitting that banking problem is a major hinder for boosting bilateral trade ties.
