He said that the country has received humanitarian relief packages from some foreign countries but no country has given cash donation to the flood-hit victims because the banking accounts of the society are under sanctions.

Peyvandi added that only some countries like Germany, Kuwait and Turkey have sent their humanitarian relief packages to Iran and some societies in Japan, Qatar, Denmark, Austria, France, India, Palestine and Pakistan have announced their readiness for help.

He asserted that Afghanistan has sent a sympathy message and Indian Embassy in Tehran has announced that India is willing to send its humanitarian package to Iran.

He also said that Iranians have so far made about 100b tomans of cash donation to the flood-hit victims, a new record for donation in the country, adding that the society expects more help from the citizens due to the vastness of flood-hit areas in provinces like Khuzestan, Lorestan and Golestan.

Peyvandi added that the relief teams of the society have saved more than 445,000 people and they have helped more than 227,000 people to have tents.

He went on to say that the society during the operations have distributed over 40,000 food packages among the flood-hit victims.

Peyvandi noted that the society has dispatched different teams to entertain children in order to alleviate the woes of the flood victims.

He said that according to the latest official statistics, 70 people have lost their lives during the floods and the society will pay to the family of each victim around 10m tomans but other government bodies will support them in the later stage.

Peyvandi said according to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, the loss of 70 people  in such a horrible disaster is not a significant figure and they have assessed the performance of the IRSC acceptable.
