Iran’s Ali Miri Snatches Silver at Asian Weightlifting Championships
Iran’s Ali Miri won a silver medal in the men’s 89kg category of the 2019 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Wednesday.

He lifted 161kg in snatch and 205kg in clean and jerk. Miri won the silver with a total of 366kg.

South Korea’s Yu Dong-ju seized the overall crown with 367kg.

He posted 160kg in the snatch and 207kg in the clean and jerk.

Japan’s Toshiki Yamamoto won the bronze medal with 358kg, comprising 203kg in the snatch and 155kg in the clean and jerk.

Over 460 athletes from 29 countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, India and Iran are participating at the competition, which started April 17 and will last until April 29.

The 2019 Asian Weightlifting Championships are being held in Ningbo, China. It’s the 48th men’s and 29th women’s championship.
