KSC Reveals Its Achievements by Mid-January

IRAN NEWS ECONOMIC DESK

TEHRAN – The CEO of Khouzestan Steel Company revealed the latest achievements of the company till mid-January.

According To Iran News Economic Group Mr. Mohammad Keshani in an interview on the eve of the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution said that the company has produced over 3.275m tons of steel production in the past ten months in the current Iranian calendar year and it is reaching the 3.8m ton target which had been set before the beginning of the year.

He went on to say that in the pelletizing production line the amount of production has reached 5.62m tons and it is almost 800,000 tons shy of the set target. He reiterated that the production in the sponge iron production line has reached the mark of 3.55m tons and the production will continue by the yearend.

Pointing to the amount of sales and exports of the company, Mr. Keshani said that the company has sold 2.978m tons of its products insofar as the company has exported 1.815m tons of its products to other countries.

He went on to say that the company exported 2.765m tons of its products, almost 73 percent, and has earned $2.1b last year. He admitted that the U.S. pullout of the JCPOA has affected the company’s exports this year and Iran’s ministry of industry’s decrees and directives have also deteriorated the condition.

Keshani noted that the company has set the mark for producing 3.8m tons for this year as it was to export 2m toms of its products. He added that the company has exported 1.815m tons of its products this year insofar and he is assured that the exports would exceed 2.m tons mark by the yearend.

He admitted that due to the lack of demand in the domestic market, steel companies eye the international markets for their sales.
