TEHRAN – Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri has invited Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations, Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al-Said, to visit Iran.

Mohammad Reza Nuri, Iran’s ambassador to Oman, handed the invitation to Al-Said in a meeting on Wednesday, during which the two sides discussed bilateral relations, Mehr reported.

The meeting came days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a visit to Muscat and met Oman’s ruler Sultan Qaboos. It was the first such meeting in over 20 years.

Iran reacted to the act of normalization, saying the Zionist regime of Israel seeks to cause division among the Muslim countries to cover up 70 years of occupation and aggression.
