Senior Adviser to the Iranian Parliament Speaker for International Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said that waging economic war against Iran is indicator of national sovereignty of the country.
Amir-Abdollahian made the remark in his meeting with Iraqi Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Rajeh Saber Abboud al-Mousavi.
In the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated the successful holding of parliamentary elections in Iraq and said, “popular elections in Iraq is a giant step towards strengthening and improving the foundations of democracy in neighboring country.”
“We are very glad that Iraq is moving towards stability and security in the region,” he maintained.
“We also hope that Iraqi people and government will be able to overcome problems through maintaining unity, amity and integrity,” Amir-Abdollahian reiterated.
He pointed to the hostile moves and the launch of economic war by US against Iran and said, “US hostile move against Iran demonstrates our sovereignty both in national and international arenas.”
Enemies of the region have targeted constructive role and positive influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, he criticized.
For his part, Iraqi Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Rajeh Saber Abboud al-Mousavi hailed Iran’s support from Iraqi government and said, “Iran has spared no effort in helping Iraqi people and government in arduous and difficult situations.”
Iran is a great and powerful country in the arena of regional and international developments, the ambassador said.
He pointed to the commonalities between the two countries of Iran and Iraq in regional and international issues and said, “Iraqi government will not allow any country to meddle in the friendly interactions between the two Muslim nations of Iran and Iraq.”
