Iran beats Indonesia in their first game towards their quest to reclaim the FIBA U18 Asian Championship throne.
The 25th edition of FIBA U18 Asian Championship kicked off today in Thailand and will go through August 11.
In a Sunday match, Iran men’s U18 basketball team defeated Indonesia 80-50.
16 Asian team have participated in the event which compete in 4 groups. Iran, the defending champions, is in Group A of the event along with Indonesia, Japan and Kazakhstan.
Mohsen Shah Ali’s men will face Kazakhstan on Monday before repeating the final of 24th edition against Japan on Tuesday. Iran clinched the title of 2016 FIBA U18 Asian Championship held in Tehran by defeating Japan in the final.
Top four team of the tournament will earn the ticket to 2019 FIBA U19 World Championships.
