TEHRAN – West Bromwich Albion are going to sign Akhmat Grozny’s Milad Mohammadi after they failed to pen a contract with Luton Town defender Jack Stacey.

The Baggies haven’t gone gung-ho in the transfer market this summer, as they have brought in a solid center back in Kyle Bartley, winger Harvey Barnes and two goalkeepers in Sam Johnstone and Jonathan Bond, Daily Mail reported.

Fans are expecting more signings before the transfer deadline, especially with James McClean gone and the likes of Craig Dawson and Salomon Rondon expected to go, and it seems that defensive reinforcements are wanted.

West Brom have submitted one approach for Luton Town defender Jack Stacey, but their move has been snubbed, whilst Milad Mohammadi is a target at left back.

Stacey, 22, came up through the ranks with Reading but made just six appearances for the Royals before heading to Luton on a permanent basis in 2017, following loan spells with Barnet, Carlisle United and Exeter City.

A right back who can also play in midfield, Stacey was a key part of the Luton side which won promotion to League One last season, and it remains to be seen whether West Brom continue to push to bring him to the second tier.

Meanwhile, Akhmat Grozny ace Milad Mohammadi is thought to be a target at left back, with boss Darren Moore potentially looking for competition for first-choice left back Kieran Gibbs.

Mohammadi, 24, is a pacey, attack-minded left back who has also been linked with Celtic and Rangers – and the Baggies may hope to secure his signature before the transfer deadline.
