The Iranian Leader’s Representative in Hajj Affairs, Seyyed Ali Qazi Askar says that Iranian government treats Sunnis and Shias equally, adding that it will dispatch more than 10,000 Iranian Sunnis from 11 provinces to this year’s Hajj.

Qazi Askar made the remarks in a conference attended by Sunni clerics tasked with the observing Sunni Iranian pilgrims in this year’s Hajj.

Stating that the Iranian government has formed a council comprised of 10 Sunni Iranian clerics tasked with planning for a safe Hajj for pilgrims, he said that more than 10,000 Iranian Sunnis from 11 provinces will be dispatched to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

Iranian Leader’s representative in Hajj affairs further pointed out that Iran never seeks to divide the Islamic countries and has always called for unity among Muslims, adding that the ISIL never represents the Muslim Sunnis and it was created by the enemies of the Muslims.

He also said that all the necessary measures have been taken and the planning has been done to have a safe Hajj for Iranian pilgrims.

He expressed hope that the pilgrims will have a safer and better Hajj than last year.
