Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian said that a 540-megawatt power plant will be constructed in Sistan and Baluchestan province later o August 6.

Speaking in a meeting held in the presence of governor general and managers of water and power resources in Sistan and Baluchestan province, he said, “this province enjoys high capacities and potentials in the field of renewable wind and solar energies, so that suitable facilities will be provided for the development of these resources in this southern province.”

The officials in charge of the Ministry of Energy are determined to follow up necessary measures for meeting demands of this province especially in the fields of water and power, Ardakanian maintained.

For his part, CEO of State Water and Wastewater Company Mohammad-Reza Janbaz pointed to the critical problems facing this province in the field of water in particular and called on all responsible officials to take serious steps to solve water shortage problems in this province.

The minister of energy traveled to Sistan and Baluchestan province on Thursday to open a number of water-supply projects and to follow up necessary measures in order to solve problems facing this southern province in relevant fields.
