Iranian lifters totally collected 512.8 points and claimed the title of 2018 IWF Junior World Championships.

This is the third consecutive championship of Iran in IWF Junior World events.

In the final day of competition, Ali Davoudi in 105 kg weight category, snatched two gold and one silver medal. He lifted 192 kg in his snatch attempt and grabbed the gold medal. In clean and jerk, Davoudi raised 227 kg and received silver while the gold went to a Pakistan’s Mohammad Nooh who managed to lift 228 kg. In total, Iran’s representative picked up the gold with 419 kg and representatives of Armenia and Pakistan stood next.

Earlier, Hossein Soltani in men’s 77 kg weight category managed to bag two silver and one bronze medal. Also Rasoul Mohammadi in men’s 94 kg bodyweight category won another bronze for Iran.

Uzbekistan finished as vice champion and Turkey gained the third place, while both having collected 436.8 points.

The competition kicked off on July 6 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and ended on July 14.
