The Iranian taekwondo body has released the names of athletes who will compete in the 2018 Taekwondo Grand Slam that will be held in Wuxi, China at the end of this month.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran Taekwondo Federation, the second Taekwondo Grand Slam championships will start on July 27 in Wuxi, China, with participation of 16 men teams, 8 women teams, and 8 more other teams comprised of both sexes.

As the champion of the first edition of the team competitions, Iran will be present alongside Russia, Korea, Ivory Coast, Brazil, Australia, Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, China, Taiwan, Mexico, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Spain, Germany and the United States.

The names of the Iranian taekwondokas that have been released by the Iranian Taekwondo Federation are as follows: Seyyed Hossein Ehsani, Mehdi Jalali, Ramin Hossein-Gholizadeh, Pouria Erfanian and Erfan Nazemi.

The competition will be attended by the most professional competitors and the first to third teams will receive 80, 48, and 28 points, respectively. The event sets new rules that could be introduced for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
