Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces have announced the dismantling of 8 terror anti-Revolution cells in the northwest, west, and southeast of Iran within a month.

“Last year, more than 20 intelligence missions and operations were carried out against traditional anti-Islamic Revolution terrorist cells and the PKK in the northwest of the country,” the IRGC Ground Forces Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said in a conference attended by IRGC commanders in the northeast city of Mashhad. He added that “they sought to cross borders to disrupt the security in Iran.”

Pakpour said that of those 20 operations, 5 took place during last month, while adding that 3 other terror groups were also busted by IRGC ground forces in southeast border areas in the past few weeks.

He further noted that Quds, Najaf Ashraf and Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada bases inflicted a heavy blow against Takfiri terrorist cells, saying that Najaf Ashraf Base conducted successful operations against 21 foreign-backed Takfiri terrorist teams at the end of last year.

Meanwhile, the IRGC Ground Forces commander underlined that his forces’ activities are not limited to military operations, but they are also of great help to the people in under-developed and deprived parts of the country, especially in remote border areas.
