Acclaimed Iranian feature movie ‘Track 143’, directed by Narges Abyar, is set to screen in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.
According to a MoU, the flick currently run at China’s Qingdao film fest will be shown in 4 world spots, the producer said to local media.
Mohammad Hossein Ghasemi noted that the Memorandum of Understanding was signed with China cinema organization head.
Abyar’s work has made presence felt at a great number of national and international film festivals.
‘Track 143’ is a screen adaptation of Abyar’s novel ‘The Third Eye’ that is about a case of great maternal sacrifice during Iraq-Iran war.
The film has taken part in several international festivals, garnering a number of awards such as Special Jury Award for Best Actress at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in Australia as well as the Audience Award for Best Film at annual Reel Sydney Festival of World Cinema.
‘Track 143’ tells the story of a mother waiting for her son who has been missing in Pre-operation Valfajr during the war. She looks forward to her son’s return for many years until she finally receives his bones brought to her in a coffin instead. The film has attended several international festivals and garnered a number of awards as well.
Famed Iran actress Merila Zarei plays the female lead in the flick along with Mohammad-Javad Ezzati and Mehran Ahmadi.
Abyar’s famous feature ‘Breath’ was Iran Oscar submission, gaining impressive success on an international scale.
