TEHRAN- Government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht on Tuesday said that the government’s main target is increasing the value of national currency, rial, however, the job will not be fulfilled without the support of the Iranian nation.
“Domestic economy faces no problem and we plan to strengthen our national currency,” IRIB quoted him as saying in a news conference.
“From March 21 to June 24, the government has paid above $11.16 billion of foreign currencies, which is not less than the figure of the same time span in the preceding year,” he said, “demand for and supply of foreign currencies in the said time has increased 21 percent compared to that of the previous year, while government oil revenues and general income has increased 74 percent and 59.8 percent, respectively.”
