 Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari said on Saturday that the volume of Iran’s steel production has increased 47% since the start of 2018 compared to the same period last year.

Speaking in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Shariatmadari said the volume of steel production in Iran during the first three months of 2018 grew by 47% compared to the same period last year, while the global growth rate stood at 4.1% during that period.

The Iranian minister also said since President Rouhani took office in 2003, steel production has increased dramatically and the annual steel production has increased from 120 million tonnes (MT) to 200 MT.
