Iranian foreign minister says that the people of Iran are the main source of its power, criticizing the Saudis for spending huge amount of money on foreign military equipment.

Speaking at Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon to commemorate Iranian “National Teachers’ Day,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that there are different sources of power in today’s world and the military power is just one them.

He criticized the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s animosity towards Iran, saying that a large amount of money that Saudis spend on buying military weapons to change the power equation in the international era today, has not brought them security because in today’s world power is not merely military capabilities.

At the same time, Iranian foreign minister said that military equipment is also very important and its important should not be neglected, adding that Iran’s advantage in this regard is that it relies on its own people.

Zarif stated that a new order is emerging saying “today’s world is a post-west era that is neither American nor western,” criticizing those who do not believe in themselves and think that decisions are still made in the West.

At the end the Iranian foreign minister urged the students to trust their own abilities and become self-confident in line with the guidelines of Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, calling the Iranian students future makers.
